Kolohe Andino at Backdoor. I love this angle, but most of the time it results with a deer-in-headlights look as as they look for a landing, but find me instead, with a metal water housing.
I got a lot of photos of Jamie O\’Brien. He almost catches too many good waves. I wish I had photos of other guys on quality waves. He\’s incredible out there.
Kelly Slater, Pipeline.
Noa Deane at Rocky Rights again. Watching him surf there you\’d think he grew up surfing that wave.
Conner Coffin Off The Wall on my first day ever swimming out in Hawaii. I was scared at the time, even though it was like 4 foot, but I stayed out for 7 hours because the water was so nice and there was always someone to shoot.
Greyson Fletcher ran by the Hurley Pipe house during the finals to load up a \”Party-Box\” with Bud Lights and Red Bulls for the beach with Curren Caples and some chicks.
Jay Davies.
Jamie O’Brien during the Friday the 13th swell at Pipe.
Alejo Muniz.
John John Florence at his new home break.
Julian Wilson remembering where he is.
Julian Wilson.
Kelly Slater, Friday the 13th at Pipe.
World Champ Mick Fanning at Backdoor.
Yadin Nicol, like 320 pound Pittsburgh Steelers tackle Steve McLendon, takes part in ballet, as well as frequent stretch sessions with Simpo, to keep himself loose and light on his feet. Sometimes you can see the influence in his surfing too.
Thomas Woods.
Yadin Nicol.
Nat Young and Miguel Pupo.
Christian Fletcher at Pipe. Christian\’s a rad guy who does his own thing. I think we had a whole conversation in the water though where I didn\’t understand a word of what he said; I just nodded and agreed at every pause.
Wyatt Mchale, one half of the best 12 year duo in surfing (him and Noa Beschen), represents all that is good on the North Shore: great surfing, and the nicest people.
Oliver Kurtz.
Noa Deane.
Riley Laing is a tapped 14 year old who regularly charges Shipsterns and other waves of consequence, but this small day at Backdoor he showed off his vast aerial repertoire.
