WHAT YOUTH: Describe your approach to photography?

MOLLY STEELE: Intuitive, intimate and curious. A bit of fantasy and photo-journalism.

Josef Koudelka, Ernest Cole, Saul Leiter, Thomas Cole and Asher Durand of the Hudson River School, Kishin Shinoyama.

What makes a good photograph?
The feeling.

Interests outside photography?
Music for playing and for listening, driving my car, being alone outside, lots of reading, writing.

What pushes you outside your comfort zone?
When my safety is compromised and my subject is dangerously intriguing.

Why do you take photos?
Veracity, voracity. Looking for the experiences that move and change me.
