I wish more people would do this. We all say it. Threaten it. But Dion Agius just did it. Destroyed his phone, right into a wall —and he isn’t getting a new one. Now remember, as you see below, Dion can still be reached. He’ll probably be more engaged. More productive. Texts and info will come through on the computer. But he’ll now be able to experience what it’s like to be untraceable. Which is thrilling. Anxiety will quell. He’ll be in the moment. And make eye contact with pretty girls. And he’ll actually know what color the eyes are. He’ll probably paddle out. And be on time. And unpredictable. And pay attention to what’s in front of him and what people say because he’ll find comfort in knowing that nothing better is happening in his pocket — because it won’t exist.
If destroying an expensive piece of technology is not financially feasible, maybe put it in a drawer, or under the couch, or under the bed. For a whole day. That day will be a good one. —Travis
