Thomas Campbell has made it clear that the surfers he likes to work with can come from a wide variety of places and come with varied techniques on a surfboard. But the one thing they must have: OH SHIT! factor. And right now, I don’t think there are two goofyfooted surfers with more of that, in big, blue lefts than Craig Anderson and Ryan Burch. Whether it’s their innate style subtleties or their ability to include spontaneous bursts of unpredictability in their surfing. It’s fun to watch. Below you will find some of the first visions to come from Thomas Campbell’s upcoming project, which is being shot primarily on 16mm (as usual) and may very well come to be a very import — and perhaps the last — installation in this from to the pantheon of surf films.
