TKO Records A walk back in time.

Located in the corner of a nondescript strip mall in Huntington Beach, California, is a tiny storefront that serves as the underground music retailer, TKO Records. If you love your music in the vintage vinyl realm, this is a must stop. Like any vintage store, it takes a certain collectors patience to effectively comb through the many bins and boxes of vinyl, but your time here will be well spent. That said, the true gold is mostly on the walls, held tightly for the right price to be offered. There’s some rad t’shirts and a pretty crazy pinball machine collection jammed in there too!

Mined gold.

Originally opened to coincide with the TKO Record label’s 10 year anniversary, the store is now owned by James Allison and has been a go-to music outlet for many years. With a heavy inventory of 80’s punk, of which HB and neighboring Costa Mesa were once ground zero, there is a special connection to the music scene that once thrived in the area. The infamous Cuckoo’s Nest venue was only a mile or so away.

“Angels wanna wear my red shoes”

The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and are more then helpful in finding you that hidden gem. If you’re into music and find yourself in HB, head over to TKO. You won’t be dissapointed.
